A family tragedy will keep Jimmie Johnson out of NASCAR's Chicago street race on Sunday.
Legacy Motor Club announced Tuesday that Johnson's No. 84 car has been withdrawn from the Grant Park 220.
The move came shortly after media outlets reported Johnson's in-laws and his 11-year-old nephew had died in an apparent murder-suicide in Oklahoma.

Muskogee, Oklahoma, police told the Muskogee Phoenix that three gunshot victims were found dead inside a home on Monday night and identified as 69-year-old Jack Janway, 68-year-old Terry Janway, and 11-year-old Dalton Janway.
Terry, Johnson's mother-in-law, was believed to be the shooter, police said. Police were on the scene in time to hear the final gunshot.
Officer Lynn Hamlin told the Phoenix there was no apparent threat to the community and "it's looking very likely that it's a murder-suicide."
Johnson married Chandra Janway in December 2004.
The 47-year-old racing legend announced his return to NASCAR as a part-time driver in November, and it was reported in February that NASCAR's inaugural Chicago street race was on his schedule.
While Johnson is only participating in a select number of NASCAR races this year, he was in France to race in the 24 Hours of Le Mans for a NASCAR-backed team earlier in June.
