With each new NBA season comes a new iteration of NBA 2K. Ahead of the 2023-24 campaign, gamers can begin anticipating the release of NBA 2K24, the 25th edition of the annual game.
Before the NBA 2K24 Summer League in Las Vegas, 2K Sports unveiled the first cover athletes and released information for the upcoming game.

Who is on the cover of NBA 2K24?
Kobe Bryant will grace the cover of the "Kobe Bryant Edition" and "Black Mamba Edition" of NBA 2K24.

This follows a trend from recent years, in which 2K has had several different cover athletes for different editions of the game.
Last season, Devin Booker was featured on the standard edition cover, while Michael Jordan was on the "Michael Jordan Edition" and "Championship Edition" of NBA 2K23, done as an homage to his signature No. 23.
This year, a similar approach was taken with Bryant's ties to the No. 24.
Last year's NBA 2K also featured Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi on the "WNBA Edition" while rapper J. Cole was the cover athlete for the special "Dreamer Edition."
On July 7, it was revealed that Sabrina Ionescu will be the cover athlete of 2K24's "WNBA Edition."

When does NBA 2K24 come out?
The official release date has yet to be announced, but prior iterations of the game have been released in early September.
Fans can begin pre-ordering NBA 2K24 on Friday, July 7.
NBA 2K24 editions and prices
2K Sports first revealed that there will be a "Kobe Bryant Edition" and "Black Mamba Edition" of NBA 2K24, with more editions yet to be unveiled. There will likely be at least a "Standard Edition" with the potential of other alternate editions, as shared in years past.
