Every year, the NBA family grows in a number of ways — one of which happens to be in a literal sense.

This year, Jett Howard, son of two-time NBA champion Juwan Howard, joined the growing list of the NBA's father-son duos after he was selected 11th overall by the Magic. Houston's Amen Thompson and Detroit's Ausar Thompson became the latest set of twins to join the NBA after they were selected fourth and fifth overall, respectively.

In addition to the draft picks that will debut at the NBA 2K24 Summer League in Las Vegas, there is an expansive list of players that have relatives with an NBA background.

From father-son duos to brotherly pairs and a few nephews, The Sporting News breaks down some of the familial relationships at this year's summer league. Jump here for an expansive list.

Thompson twins headline brothers at NBA Summer League

Identical twins Amen (Rockets) and Ausar (Pistons) Thompson went back-to-back in the NBA Draft and were supposed to face off on Sunday, July 9, but Amen suffered an ankle injury in his debut that will keep him sidelined for the remainder of Summer League.

The Thompson twins are the highest profile siblings in Vegas, but they aren't the only brothers or twins that will take part in summer league action.

Identical twins Julian (Celtics) and Justin (Spurs) Champagnie aren't set to play against one another, but will both be present in Vegas. Kings forward Keegan Murray took the floor at the California Classic Summer League but it's unclear if he'll also play in Vegas like his identical twin, Kris, a recent draft pick of the Trail Blazers.

Among other sibling pairs in Vegas will be AJ (Hawks) and Alan (Bucks) Griffin, sons of Bucks head coach Adrian Griffin. Bryce (Hornets) and Trey (Nets) McGowens will also be present in Las Vegas.

As for lone siblings, there are a few other names fans may recognize. Marvin Bagley III's younger brother, Marcus, is present on Philadelphia's roster while Evan Mobley's older brother, Isaiah, will be with the Cavaliers.

Michael Porter Jr.'s brother, Jontay, will suit up for the Bulls, Celtics' sharpshooter Sam Hauser's younger brother, Joey, will be with the Jazz and Pete Nance, who is the younger brother of New Orleans' Larry Nance Jr. and son of retired highflyer Larry Nance, will be with the Cavs.

Jett Howard among second-generation NBA players at Summer League

Howard, who played for his father during his lone season at the University of Michigan, now joins the franchise for which his father played for one season. Similarly, Trayce Jackson-Davis will take the floor for the Warriors, the same franchise for which his father Dale suited up for during the 2004-05 season.

They are two of several second-generation NBA players taking the floor this summer.

In addition to Alan Griffin, the Bucks have two other second-generation NBA players: Vin Baker Jr., whose father is on Milwaukee's coaching staff and Nico Mannion, whose father spent six seasons in the NBA.

Elsewhere, Ron Harper Jr. will take the floor for the Raptors while Scotty Pippen Jr. will play for the Lakers. Their fathers, Ron Harper and Scottie Pippen, won three NBA titles together with the Bulls.

It's not just father-son duos, either. Mfiondu Kabengele (Dikembe Mutombo), Xavier Moon (Jamario) and Marcus Sasser (Jason and Jeryl) are the players that have uncles that enjoyed time in the NBA.
