There’s no place like home, and Jared Anderson will experience the ultimate homecoming on July 1. The heavyweight faces former world champion Charles Martin in one of the biggest fights of his career.

Anderson competes inside the Huntington Center in Toledo, Ohio. He was supposed to fight Zhan Kossobutskiy, but visa issues from the latter (via Boxing Scene) forced the fight to be changed. The event airs on ESPN and ESPN+ in the U.S., and Sky Sports in the U.K.

A two-time U.S. National Championships gold medalist, Anderson signed with Top Rank in 2019. The 23-year-old beat Vladimir Tereshkin in 2021 for the NABF heavyweight title. His last bout was a win against George Arias in April.

"The Real Big Baby" has a 100% knockout rate, as all his bouts have ended via the power punch. He’s ready to make an impact in front of all his peers.

“To my family, friends, and fans in Toledo, I cannot wait to come home,” Anderson said. “This is a dream come true. Trust me, I am going to put on a show for you all. The support of my city has pushed me my entire career, and I know everyone will be in my corner on July 1.”

A 2012 Golden Gloves silver medalist, Martin turned pro in 2012. "Prince Charles" beat Vyacheslav Glazkov in 2016 for the IBF heavyweight title but lost it in his next fight against Anthony Joshua. Since that loss, he's gone 6-2 and is 1-1 in his last two bouts. The 37-year-old, with 26 wins via knockout, beat Devin Vargas in his previous fight in September.
