The start of the 2023 college football season is just under 100 days away. And on Wednesday, fans will get one step closer to knowing when and how to watch some of the biggest games in the sport.

Major TV networks will be unveiling the selections and times for games in the first three weeks of the season. ESPN, Fox, CBS and NBC have already made the selections for the contests in "drafts" as they jockey for the most desirable matchups.

This year, there figures to be plenty of intrigue added to the schedule. Big Ten games will now be on Fox, CBS and NBC with no games on the ESPN family of networks, meaning all other conferences will have more opportunities to be carried on major channels.

Adding to the intrigue is the new landscape of college football. The Big 12 is entering its final year with Texas and Oklahoma, and its first with Cincinnati, Houston, BYU and UCF. Conference USA has also continued its overhaul, and several new teams have joined the American Athletic Conference ahead of the 2023 season.

The Sporting News will be tracking the biggest games announced in the first three weeks of the 2023 college football season.

When does college football start in 2023?

For most teams, the college football season will officially begin Saturday, Sept. 2. However, there will be at least a few others that will start a bit earlier.

Week 0 of the 2023 college football season will be the weekend of Saturday, Aug. 26. There are 10 Division I games scheduled for that weekend, with the most high-profile teams being Notre Dame facing Navy in Dublin, and USC hosting San Jose State.
