As the holder of the biggest contract in NFL history, Patrick Mahomes is, among other things, filthy rich.
That brings its perks. Mahomes has aligned himself with numerous blue-chip brands over the course of his career, including State Farm and Head and Shoulders.
Brand deals are one thing, but owning stake in a brand? Well, that's real capital.
And Mahomes has plenty.

The Chiefs quarterback has bought into a bevy of firms, from food chains to sporting franchises. It has already paid major dividends.
What businesses does Patrick Mahomes own?
After signing that mammoth contract $450 million contract extension in 2020, Mahomes made a series of investments in both local and national franchises. Here are some of the most prominent:
Whataburger
Few things represent the Lone Star State quite as much as a good burger. Mahomes should know. Not only is he a Texas native. But he's also purchased some serious stock in Whataburger, the Texas-based fast food restaurant that specializes in burgers and fries. Although it's unclear quite how much Mahomes has invested into the firm, it does seem to be making an impact: the company is planning on opening 30 locations in the Kansas City area by 2027.
Kansas City Royals
As the son of a former MLB player, baseball has always been in Mahomes' DNA. And although he didn't quite follow in his father Pat's footsteps, he does retain a serious interest in the sport — so much so that he purchased a minority stake in his adopted hometown's MLB team in 2020.

“I’m honored to become a part-owner of the Kansas City Royals. I love this city and the people of this great town," Mahomes said in a statement. "This opportunity allows me to deepen my roots in this community, which is something I’m excited to do.”
Mahomes is believed to have put $10 million into the Royals. That's one way to cement your ties to the community.

Sporting KC
Mahomes has since added some other sporting sides to his repertoire, joining Sporting Kansas City's ownership group in 2021. The MLS club has yet to accomplish much of anything since Mahomes bought a stake. However, with a fairly new stadium and a fanbase known for vociferous support, don't be surprised if SKC thrusts itself up the league table sooner rather than later.
Kansas City Current
Mahomes isn't the only one in his family to toss some bread to help a local sports team. In fact, his wife Brittany — a former collegiate and professional soccer player — became part owner of the NWSL's expansion Kansas City franchise in 2021.
Mahomes soon threw his support for the club, joining the franchise's ownership group in January 2023. By doing so, he became the active NFL player to have equity in an NWSL side.
I am thankful for the chance to join @brittanylynne as part of the @thekccurrent ownership team. She and the Longs have done an incredible job building a world-class organization and I am excited to join another championship-caliber club as it continues to make history. pic.twitter.com/TmTsqIV9QE

"We are so thrilled to make this a family affair and have Patrick join as an owner,” Brittany Mahomes said in a statement. “He has been a huge supporter behind-the-scenes. His passion for the Current is undeniable, and I am glad that he will be with us as we continue on our journey to become the best in the NWSL."

AirShare
Mahomes is something of an expert on aerial dominance. So it's little surprise that he also invested into private jet provider AirShare. It's a partnership that offers Mahomes plenty of breathing room, allowing him to use private aircraft at his own leisure.
HyperIce
As a professional athlete, few things are as important as recovery. Mahomes has stayed fairly healthy over the course of his career. A big reason why is his commitment to getting proper treatment postgame.
As such, Mahomes made sure to throw his bag into something he feels passionate in. Along came HyperIce, a recovery and performance technology brand affiliated with global stars like Ja Morant, Naomi Osaka and Amanda Nunes. Mahomes joined the HyperIce team in 2020. The company is currently valued at $700 million.
Whoop
What do Patrick Mahomes and Kevin Durant have in common? Well, outside of being two of the best players in their respective sports and pillars of their local communities, they also share business ties. Mahomes and Durant are among a group of athletes invested in Whoop, a human performance company that makes fitness trackers. It carries a valuation of over $3 billion.
Patrick Mahomes net worth
Per Celebrity Net Worth, Mahomes carries a net worth of $40 million. That's not bad for a 27-year-old, one whose value seems boundless given his various business holdings, as well as the gaudy nature of his contract. Expect that number to rise in the coming few years.
Patrick Mahomes career earnings
Per Spotrac, Mahomes has collected a hair over $75 million thus far in his career. If he were to see out the entirety of his 10-year extension, however, Mahomes would net $491 million from salary alone. That's a lot of zeroes before you even get to his endorsements and investments.
