The Celtics are wasting no time committing to their newest acquisition.
Boston made one of the biggest splashes of the offseason so far when it traded for All-Star forward Kristaps Porzingis in a three-team deal with the Wizards and Grizzlies just before the 2023 NBA Draft.
Porzingis opted into his $36 million player option to make the trade happen, but that meant the 27-year-old would be on an expiring contract entering his first season with the Celtics.
Boston made sure to get its franchise cornerstone locked up beyond the next season, signing Porzingis to a two-year, $60 million extension on the first day of free agency, per Bleacher Report's Chris Haynes.
What does Porzingis' new contract look like and how long will he be in Boston? The Sporting News breaks it all down below.
