One thing about this year's MLB Home Run Derby is for certain: There will be big flies in Seattle.

Two players with 25 or more home runs at the All-Star break will be in the event: Luis Robert and Pete Alonso. Mookie Betts entered the break with 23 homers.

Adolis Garcia, Randy Arozarena, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Julio Rodriguez all bring power credentials to this year's showcase. Adley Rutschman, one of the most exciting young players in the game will try to become the first switch-hitting catcher to win the Home Run Derby.

Last year, Juan Soto defeated Rodriguez in a thrilling head-to-head final in Los Angeles. Rodriguez will try to take care of unfinished business as he hits in his home park.

In another Seattle connection, Alonso is looking to join Mariners and MLB legend Ken Griffey Jr. as the only three-time winners of the Home Run Derby.

Here's what to know about the 2023 Home Run Derby at T-Mobile Park, including the bracket, betting odds among the participants and predictions.

Home Run Derby predictions

Kevin Skiver (@SkiverK9): The right side of the bracket is looking like a war of attrition with Alonso, Rodriguez and Guerrero all having serious derby history and Betts primed to make history of his own. When the competition is that heated, guys get tired. It seems as though Robert could traipse through the first round against Rutschman and then take advantage of a potential shootout between Garcia and Arozarena. Let's go chalk for this one. Winner: Robert

Edward Sutelan (@EdwardSutelan): Garcia absolutely blisters the baseball. A season ago, 51.9 percent of his home runs would have left every ballpark in the majors. This year, he’s ranking in the 90th percentiles in hard hit rates, barrel rates and both average and max exit velocity. Garcia’s got as much raw power as anyone in this derby field and a swing built for the competition. He could be primed to put on a show. Winner: Garcia

Home Run Derby odds
