MLB celebrity softball game final score, results: Team Felix holds on for win as Ryan Howard turns back the clock

The stars were out in Seattle on Saturday night, and so were the runs. Forty of them, to be exact. No one would expect MLB's celebrity softball game to be a pitchers' duel, but this year's edition produced 12 more runs than last year's as Team Felix outlasted Team Finch 21-19.

Celebrities such as JoJo Siwa and Adam Devine might have been the draw for some fans, but it was the athletes who predictably stood out on the diamond. None stood out more than 2006 National League MVP Ryan Howard, who made the field look small with an inside-the-park home run and later a traditional home run.

Felix Hernandez, who started the game on the mound, laced a home run of his own, while NBA stars Donovan Mitchell and Zach LaVine both launched homers themselves.

Team Finch played from behind most of the night and gave itself a chance by holding Team Felix to just two runs in the fourth inning, but its four runs in the top of the fifth weren't enough to extend the game. It's only appropriate that a Mariners legend walked off the field a winner at T-Mobile Park.

Final: Team Felix 21, Team Finch 19

11:27 p.m. — This one ends on a soft groundball from JoJo Siwa. Team Felix wins 21-19! Team Finch played from behind most of the night and comes up just short.

11:25 p.m. — Another 2-run blast for Team Finch to make it 21-19! This one comes after an infield single.

11:23 p.m. — Team Finch already has two outs, but Donovan Mitchell hits an absolute moonshot (by celebrity game standards) to make it 21-17.

11:19 p.m. — Maybe the Howard-Siwa battery was exactly what Team Finch needed. Team Felix held to two runs, and the deficit is manageable.

11:18 p.m. — Ryan Howard is pitching to JoJo Siwa behind the plate. That's all.

11:16 p.m. — Great over-the-shoulder catch by Donovan Mitchell, but not before Team Felix puts two more runs on the board. The inning continues...

11:14 p.m. — Now it's Team Felix's turn to pad the 19-15 lead in the bottom of the fourth.

11:09 p.m. — Don't sleep on Bobby Wagner's bat. The Seahawks linebacker laces a single to centerfield as Team Finch sits four runs behind.

11:06 p.m. — Some more suspect defense puts Donovan Mitchell on base and scores Finch to cut the deficit to seven.

10:59 p.m. — Six more runs on the board for Team Felix to make it 19-9! That matches last year's celebrity game run total, and it's three innings of at least six runs for Felix's squad.

10:51 p.m. — Zach LaVine mashes a three-run blast to make it 13-9! Who knew LaVine had that kind of power?

10:47 p.m. — It's 13-5 after another Team Finch home run.

10:45 p.m. — Ryan Howard hits a mammoth home run to cut the deficit to 10. He's 2-for-2 with two home runs and looks like he's in great shape. Anyone need a DH?

10:42 p.m. — Team Finch opens the third inning with a 13-2 deficit and immediately hits into the first out of the inning. Not great.

10:37 p.m. — A laser home run by Felix Hernandez!

10:34 p.m. — Back-to-back home runs! Mark Rober and JP Saxe both clear the wall to pad Team Felix's lead.

10:30 p.m. — What an inning for Team Felix! Team Finch gets a couple hits, including a single from LaVine, but manages two quick outs to post a rare scoreless frame.

10:25 p.m. — It's all gone downhill for Team Finch. Not only did Team Felix score six runs in the bottom of the first, but JoJo Siwa softly grounded out to lead off the second inning.

10:19 p.m. — Runs, runs, and more runs. Trey Griffey, son of Ken, hits one past Zach LaVine that goes to the wall and scores two runs. Team Felix has put four on the board in the first.

10:14 p.m. — Felix Hernandez laces a single to left field!

10:12 p.m. — King Felix hits a batter, but in this game that doesn't mean anything. He gets the third out and escapes with a 2-0 deficit in what will be a high-scoring affair.

10:09 p.m. — Some rough defense so far... but that's no surprise. A Yandel single (or error by the infielder) scores Jennie Finch to make it 2-0, Team Finch.

10:07 p.m. — Nothing like a Ryan Howard home run, even if it's an inside-the-parker.

9:52 p.m. — Zach LaVine looks pretty good in teal. He'll be joined by Donovan Mitchell as NBA stars showing off their softball skills.
