UConn Final Four appearances: History of Huskies' NCAA Tournament semifinals, national championships in men's basketball

UConn faced San Diego State in the national championship game on Monday, with coach Dan Hurley and Co. adding to one of the most impressive Final Four histories of any team in the NCAA Tournament.

The Huskies upended the Aztecs 76-59, logging one of the bigger blowouts in NCAA Tournament championship game history and adding yet another chapter in the team's Final Four history. For years, Basketball Hall of Famer Jim Calhoun was the sole author of that history, before Kevin Ollie wrote his own entry in 2014. Now Hurley has added another.

Monday's meeting with SDSU reflected UConn's fifth all-time national title game appearance, and first under Hurley. Considering the historical dominance of this team on this stage and beyond — plus the Huskies' dominance in this tournament — the question now can be asked whether UConn's blue-blood status comes with an asterisk

How many Final Fours has UConn been to?

UConn has six appearances in the men's Final Four — all since the 1999 season — which is tied for 10th-most in NCAA's Division I. The first four of those came under Calhoun. Ollie earned the fifth in 2014, with Hurley earning the latest in 2023.
