Two accomplished fighters in women’s boxing are ready to put it all on the line for undisputed super middleweight gold on July 1. Franchon Crews-Dezurn looks to defend her belts for the first time against former world champion Savannah Marshall.

The fight takes place at the AO Arena in Manchester. ESPN+ airs the bout in the U.S., while Sky Sports will broadcast it in the U.S.

Crews-Dezurn beat Maricela Cornejo in 2018 for the WBC super middleweight title and won the rematch in 2019 for the WBO belt. "The Heavy Hitting Diva” bested Elin Cederroos to win the IBF and WBA titles and became undisputed in April 2022, which was her last time in a boxing ring.

Marshall has been the more active fighter, competing in a losing effort against rival Claressa Shields in October. That loss ended the Silent Assassin’s reign as WBO middleweight champion, a run that lasted two years. The Brit hopes to beat Crews-Dezurn and become a champion in two divisions.

"She's (Crews-Dezurn) very smart. Very smart in what she does, and like I said, she's physical," Marshall told Sky Sports. "She'll have you on the floor, she'll rough you up. She'll punch you in the back of the head, she's that sort of fighter.

"Anyone who's a fighter knows those type of fighters that are novicey and inexperienced are the worst kind because they're unpredictable, and that's what she is. She likes to throw people off, she likes to maul people and manhandle them. So I see this being a very physical fight."

Crews-Dezurn has become Shields’ sparring partner. A Marshall win may goad Shields to move back to the division where she became a unified champion.
