Where is the Rose Bowl?

The Rose Bowl (currently known as the Ageas Bowl under its sponsorship agreement) is located in the southern English city of Southampton, in the county of Hampshire, and has a 15,000 capacity, or 25,000 with temporary seating.

Widely believed to be one of the best places to watch cricket in England, the Rose Bowl is yet to host a men's Ashes Test - with the 2027 series to be its debut.

The Rose Bowl hosted its first men's Test when England played Sri Lanka in 2011 and has hosted four other England men's Tests - India (2014, 2018), West Indies (2020), Pakistan (2020).

Hampshire Cricket chairman Rod Bransgrove was delighted to be welcoming Ashes cricket to the Rose Bowl.

"The Ashes fixture in 2027 will be a historic moment for Hampshire Cricket, the Ageas Bowl and for cricket in general as England and Australia engage in a Test Match for the first time at our bespoke venue," Bransgrove said.

"It represents the realisation of a long-held ambition; a dream come true.

"For all our dedicated staff, both past and present, the allocation of this match, the women's Ashes Test in 2031, and the broader international and Test match programme over this seven-year period, represents full recognition of their amazing commitment and dedication over the past two decades."
