We have a lighter MLB DFS offering on Monday, as just six games are scheduled. With Spencer Strider taking the mound for the Braves and Luis Castillo against the Nats, we are definitely going to need some value plays tonight. That’s where I come in. Experienced daily fantasy baseball owners know that sleepers and values can change once lineups come out, so keep track of all MLB starting lineups and Hitter Matchups (BvP) on RotoBaller to add to the research below.
Value picks are always relative, but for this piece, we'll target hitters under $4,000/$3,000 on DraftKings/FanDuel and pitchers under $6,000/$7,000 DK/FD. We'll also point out any player we feel is sorely underpriced for his expected production.
Rain could be an issue across the Eastern seaboard again today, so keep an eye on the weather in Baltimore and New York. They are the first two games of the night, so we should have plenty of notice if the weather will affect those games.

Best SP values, sleepers for Monday's MLB DFS contests
By Mike Marteny
Reid Detmers, Angels vs. White Sox ($7,300 DK, $8,500 FD)
Detmers went toe-to-toe with Clayton Kershaw last week, striking out eight in seven scoreless innings. The Dodgers got to the Angels' bullpen, but don’t blame Detmers for that. He has only allowed two runs in his past three starts combined with 24 strikeouts in 18.2 innings. Against a cold White Sox team, Detmers will end up outscoring many of the pitchers priced higher than him.
Trevor Williams, Nationals @ Mariners ($5,800 DK, $7,400 FD)
The bottom of the pitching barrel is rather nasty again tonight. I’m not completely sold on Williams, but there are enough reasons to consider him tonight. He gets a major park upgrade heading to Seattle, and the Mariners are only hitting .223 against righthanded pitching on the season. They are also hitting just .227 at home this year and .230 in June. Williams is coming off his best start of the season against the Cardinals last week when he went six scoreless innings. Can he build off of that?
Best infield values, sleepers for Monday's MLB DFS contests
Ryan O’Hearn, Orioles vs. Reds ($3,000 DK, $2,600 FD)
The former Royal has first base all to himself with Ryan Mountcastle on the IL. O’Hearn is hitting .345 in June with four homers in 60 at-bats filling in for Mountcastle. Cincinnati starter Brandon Williamson has allowed six homers in his past four starts and is allowing a lot of fly balls. O’Hearn is a good bet to remain hot here.
Eduardo Escobar, Angels vs. White Sox ($2,700 DK, $2,200 FD)
Maybe all Escobar needed was a change of scenery. He has played two games for the Angels since being traded from the Mets and has gone 4-for-8 with a walk, RBI, and five runs scored. Of course, those games were in Coors Field, but it's still a good start. It’s worth considering that maybe all Escobar needed was a confidence boost. He’s cheap enough to take a flier on considering his moderate success as an Angel.
Eugenio Suarez, Mariners vs. Nationals ($3,400 DK, $2,600 FD)
We might be seeing signs of Suarez finally getting on track. He still hasn’t left the yard since June 12, but he has six hits, including three doubles and five RBIs over the past four games. Eventually, some of those doubles are going to clear the fence. Considering that Suarez has three career homers in 25 at-bats against Trevor Williams, tonight could be the night.

Best OF values, sleepers for Monday's MLB DFS contests
Mickey Moniak, Angels vs. White Sox ($4,000 DK, $2,700 FD)
Moniak is coming off six hits, including a homer, and five RBIs in two games in Denver. The former top pick of the Phillies in 2016 is hitting a blistering .394 with two homers and eight RBIs in his past 10 games, mostly starting against righthanders. The return of Hunter Renfroe has cut into Moniak’s playing time a bit, but how can you keep a guy hitting this well out of the lineup?
Ezequiel Duran, Rangers vs. Tigers ($3,400 DK, $2,800 FD)
Duran has multiple hits in three of the past four games, but he has very little to show for it. He's scored three runs and doubled twice, but he has no counting stats. That could change against Matthew Boyd tonight. Boyd is struggling this year, posting his worst ERA (5.37) since 2015 unless you count the COVID year of 2020. Duran should get another cheap hit or two tonight.
Aaron Hicks, Orioles vs. Reds ($2,600 DK, $2,400 FD)
Over his past five games, the veteran has two of his five homers on the season. Hicks doesn’t have a ton of fantasy value anymore, but two homers and a steal in the past five games are something to take note of, especially when he has a favorable matchup tonight.
