Back with a smolder.
After a one-week reprieve, the NASCAR Cup Series returns to the fore. And it's going country for this week's race, setting up shop in Nashville for the Ally 400.
LIVE: Follow TSN’s coverage of the Ally 400 at Nashville
Music City is one of the more beloved sites in the NASCAR calendar. It features a rounded 1.33-mile track and ever-so-precarious turns, just the sort of environment that superspeedway stars like Denny Hamlin, Bubba Wallace and Ryan Blaney pine for.
Wallace is a particularly interesting case study. The 23XI Racing talent has looked much-improved through the 2023 season and finds himself in postseason contention as we head into the second half of the season.
He didn't have the greatest of times in last year's iteration of the race, cursing out crew chief Bootie Barker after losing a wheel. What a difference a year makes though for the 29-year-old, who has looked assured more often than not in the cockpit. Strong finishes have tended to follow up more times than most. Now, he's on his turf: Wallace is at his best when he's surrounded by the widening expanse of a superspeedway. Could a win — and a spot in the playoffs — be in the cards?
